Exposition : le Voyage éthéré d’Alexandre Deschaumes au Hameau Albert 1er

Fri, 11/19/2021 - 15:55

                                                                                ***

We have never hidden our pronounced taste for art, especially for the many and varied mountain representations.  This tendency leads us to constantly exhibit the works of inspired artists.
This winter, it is the universe of Alexandre Deschaumes that invites itself to the Hameau Albert 1er, from December 17th, 2021, to April 30th, 2022. A universe involving mystery and aestheticism that will soon fascinate you as much as it does us...

Coming from Haute Savoie, Alexandre Deschaumes is one of these artists inexplicably drawn to melancholic atmospheres. Passionate about music, his field of expression widens when he aimlessly starts photography, driven by what he describes as "a kind of inner call". Wandering in the heart of autumn forests, he develops his own art and creates his own identity, making his work an ode to inspiration and creation. His interpretations are the reflection of his emotional state, and he sublimates the scenes he photographs, giving them a timeless and enigmatic dimension.

Alexandre Deschaumes is above all looking for inspiring places and atmospheres. His taste for dark and dramatic scenes can be observed in the mists floating in the heights that often make up his pictures.
Each artist is guided by his own sources of inspiration: Alexandre Deschaumes’s inspiration is coming from other photographers (Ansel Adams, Vincent Munier), but also from writers (H.P Lovecraft, JRR Tolkien) and painters (William Turner, Lionel Wibault)...
The film "The Quest for Inspiration", directed by Mathieu Le Lay, seals the meeting of two artists sharing a common passion for nature.

"Ethereal Journey" gathers forests and mountains photographs in the Alps, Iceland, and Patagonia. The choice of the word "ethereal" in the title emphasizes the impalpable, light, and airy dimension. These are unusual shots, the result of a personal interpretation by the artist: contrasts, black and white, under-exposure... The landscapes are transcended and refer to a mysterious world that the artist allows us to discover through his eyes.

Settled in the heart of the valley for 5 generations, we are sensitive to this mountain’s poetic vision, revealing both its beauty and its complexity. The "inner call" that the artist felt for those places with their constantly changing atmospheres is reminiscent of our new menus "The Call of the Summits", "The Ephemeral" and “The Hanging Garden”.

From December 17th 2021 to April 30th 2022, join us in the salons of the Albert 1er for this indescribable quest.
