Dégustation & Déjeuner œnologique de Septembre

Sat, 08/21/2021 - 13:58

Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th September 2021

For the month of September, we are happy to find you and to present you the domain ;
Lionel FAURY - Saint-Joseph & Condrieu.

As every month during the oenological lunches, Marc-Henri Mialon, head sommelier of the gastronomic restaurant 'Albert 1er' will share with you his passion for wines. This is an opportunity to meet one or more winegrowers to share their know-how and taste with them the wines that make them proud. The morning wine tasting continues with a lunch at the 'Albert 1er' restaurant, with a menu specially elaborated to enhance the wines of the winemaker who will share the table with you.

In the north of the Rhone valley, in the commune of Chavanay, Jean Faury settled after the war in the small hamlet of Ribaudy. He planted a few fruit trees which were sold on the local markets and also vines whose wine disguised the coal miners of the St-Etienne region.

Philippe, his son, took over the business in 1979 and was more interested in working with vines and wine. He started to cultivate steep hillsides where the quality of the terroirs was better, but he continued to grow fruit, which allowed him to finance the buildings and equipment necessary for the production of wine.

The farm grows and specializes, in proportion to the interest of private customers and French restaurateurs.

Lionel, the youngest of Philippe's children, settled in 2006, and brought a new breath of fresh air to the estate, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. The wines are exported worldwide and allow everyone to benefit from more detailed and precise expressions of the terroirs of St-Joseph and Condrieu.
