Solidarity Race in Chamonix: Le Hameau Donates 1 € per Kilometer for "À Chacun Son Everest!"
What if running in the mountains served a great cause? For the past four years, Hameau Albert 1er, Relais & Châteaux in Chamonix, has been transforming every kilometer covered by its customers during races in the valley into a donation for the association "À Chacun Son Everest!". With the "1 km = 1 €uro" initiative, we combine a stay in the mountains, sport, and solidarity.
A solidarity tourism initiative in the heart of Mont-Blanc
Every summer, thousands of trail running enthusiasts meet in Chamonix to take part in emblematic races such as the UTMB (Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc) or the Mont-Blanc Marathon. These international events attract both seasoned athletes and mountain enthusiasts.
Our hotel is associated with this dynamic to give additional meaning to the effort. The principle is simple: for each kilometer covered by our guests during a race, we donate 1€ to the association "À Chacun Son Everest!".
Last year, 2,450 € was collected thanks to the generosity of our guests.
À Chacun Son Everest : the summit after the ordeal
Created by Christine Janin, the first French woman to have climbed Everest, the association À Chacun Son Everest! supports children with cancer and women in remission from breast cancer.
From its headquarters in Chamonix, it organises week-long wellness stays combining physical activities (hiking, yoga, climbing) and psychological support. These stays help participants regain self-confidence and rebuild themselves after the disease.
Every euro raised contributes directly to financing these care and reconstruction programs.
