Wine & cocktails bar

QuartzBar

Logo Quartzbar

An elegant and welcoming venue inspired by the luminous transparency of ice and the purity of rock crystal. Original and ever-changing like a chameleon, this lounge bar reveals different atmospheres depending on the shifting daylight and evening glow. Around its tapas-style menu of sweet and savoury creations, it offers a chic yet convivial option for light dining, open to all and just a stone’s throw from the centre of Chamonix. At aperitif time, settling into the QuartzBar and letting yourself be guided by our team of sommeliers is part of the pleasure of discovering the art of living celebrated at Le Hameau Albert 1er.

Simply choose between a glass of wine from one of the alpine terroirs of our regions or from a prestigious label, a glass of champagne from renowned winehouses, or a selection of classic cocktails, signature creations, or seasonal inspirations, with or without alcohol. These beautifully crafted mocktails—made with fresh fruit juices, tea, and herbal infusions from the garden—retain all the festive spirit of the aperitif.

The wine cellar of the Albert 1er restaurant opens its doors to you: 1000 references, and just as many emotions and stories to be shared.

The QuartzBar is a vibrant living space for hotel guests and passing visitors alike, and is also favoured by locals—a meeting place and creative platform for regional artists and others who come for short residencies. It is a privileged setting in which to enjoy piano, double bass, and guitar performances spanning classical music, jazz, and even vocal pop-rock.

A wide variety of cocktails
and exceptional wines

At the QuartzBar, cocktails are an art form and a specialty, particularly the custom-made creations. Crafted by your bartender from a spirit of your choice, which sets the tone, each drink becomes a unique experience. The menu also features an exclusive selection of signatures by the sommeliers who have succeeded one another at Le Hameau Albert 1er, including the most recent, “Le Bitter Up” by head sommelier Youri Greffe. The QuartzBar’s fine collection of Chartreuse, known as the “Queen of Liqueurs,” will delight enthusiasts.

A generous selection of classic spirits—of which the bar has a wide variety—doesn’t preclude the option of enjoying certain white or red wines by the glass, nor the pleasure of sipping a glass of champagne. To satisfy a sudden craving, the QuartzBar offers a tempting menu of savory and sweet tasting plates, in the spirit of tapas meant for sharing. For those who prefer non-alcoholic drinks, mocktails made with fresh fruit juices, tea, and herbal infusions from the garden are also available.

Musique live Quartzbar

The QuartzBar,
an intimate musical stage

A defining feature and centrepiece of this welcoming lounge, the luminous bar with its shifting reflections, is a true work of art—an original piece designed by Bernard Ferrari in connection with the craft of Chamonix’s crystal artisans. Wool flooring, expansive picture windows opening onto nature, tonal gradients echoing the surrounding mountain rock, understated furnishings complemented by circular ceiling lights with a refined design casting a softly tinted glow—the décor of the QuartzBar creates an immediate sense of relaxation and joie de vivre!

The mineral-inspired atmosphere, warmed by wooden wall panelling, creates a welcoming sense of conviviality. All the emerging young talents invited to perform regularly at Le Hameau Albert 1er—singers and musicians alike—find on this intimate stage a privileged launchpad. On the beautiful piano where artist André Manoukian, a devoted admirer of the venue, gave his very first concert at the age of nine, a wide range of repertoires is performed, from jazz to classical, as well as pop and rock.
