NEW YEAR IN THE QUARTZBAR

From 9.30pm, the QuartzBar will be accessible to anybody wishing to order a glass of Champagne, wine or cocktail whilst enjoying the musical ambiance and the fireworks at midnight.

This year the Hameau Albert 1er is celebrating its 110th anniversary and the Albert 1er restaurant is proposing an exceptional New Year's Eve dinner, with a taster menu of gourmet delights especially elaborated for the occasion by Pierre Maillet, representing the 5th family generation to have taken charge of the 2 Michelin-starred Albert 1er cuisine.

The evening will commence from 7.30pm in our QuartzBar, where you will be invited for a glass of Roederer Brut Premier champagne for the aperitif.

Throughout the evening, the musical compositions of a pianist, cellist and singer will transform you into the universe of jazz, pop and classical music.

At midnight, the Hameau Albert 1er firework display will mark the arrival of the New Year 2014, the piano and singer will continue to mesmerise you until the early hours.

- Menu not including drinks at 300 € per person:
For your wine selection, our sommeliers can propose you their New Year wine list and they remain at your disposal to advise you accordingly.

- Menu including a selection of wines by the glass at 500 €uro per person:
Our sommeliers will serve you a selection of wines especially chosen to accompany this festive menu.

ALBERT 1er gastronomic restaurant 

Cream of chestnut soup, sea urchin and sweet Cevennes onions.

Rock crab, celery and Aquitaine caviar.

Line-caught sole fish cooked in a nut crust, boletus mushrooms and ‘vin jaune’.

‘Pousse en Claire’ oyster, light stock of foie gras and white Alba truffle.

Artichoke cappelletti with ricotta and black truffle.

Colvert duck roasted with spices, cherry juice.

A selection of fresh and mature cheeses.

Victoria pineapple and lime biscuit, roasted pineapple sorbet and ginger.

Pure 'Carupano' plantation chocolate sphere, grilled coffee and mascarpone.

Bite-sized desserts and chocolates.

Our Master Sommelier, Christian Martray, proposes the following wine pairing to accompany your New Year’s dinner

 

Côtes de Duras "Pérette et les Noisetiers" 2009 Domaine Mouthes Le Bihan
An exceptional blend of sauvignon blanc and semillon from old vineyards planted in the 1930’s to accompany the first three starters. It is a dry white wine, a rarity from South Western vineyards in France.

Meursault 2007 Arnaud Ente
Classic chardonnay from Burgundy, made by this small exceptional family winery.
2007 is the year that produced some of the most drinkable wines of these past years. It will be served in magnum.

Pinot noir d'Alsace "Les Saintes Claires" 2008 Domaine Albert Mann
Renowned "Best winemakers of France", the Barthelmé family shows immense talent with regards to all levels of their production. The pinot noir is a tradition, and theirs is quite simply the best of their region, prevailing their fellow Burgundy winemakers.
It will be served in magnum.

Coteaux du Layon Chaume 2010 Château Soucherie

To accompany the first dessert, is a fine liquorous wine from the Loire, the place where the chinin grape variety produces fine wines that are subtly balanced and with particularly enticing aromas. Château Soucherie is a benchmark and allows us to formulate this wine-pairing with the pineapple.

Montilla Moriles Don PX 1982 Bodegas Toro Albala
To create a magical association between the chocolate, roasting flavours and this unusual wine made in Southern Spain. Made from the pedro ximenez grape from which comes the name PX, it is a liquorous wine made from the open air passerillage technique. It is not only a dessert wine but also a meditation wine.
